Have you ever felt rejected even before someone gave you a real chance? You work hard, learn from life, try your best but because you don’t have a certain degree, it feels like all of that doesn’t count. If that sounds familiar, trust me you’re not alone.

Every day, so many talented people are turned away from jobs before a human even looks at their name. Why? Because a machine, an AI filter, didn’t find the right words or the right degree on their resume. It’s not only frustrating, it’s disheartening. You start thinking: Did my hard work mean nothing? Am I not good enough because I didn’t go to a famous college?

Let’s be real this system is broken. And someone needs to say it.

There are people who never went to college and still built great businesses. Artists, designers, marketers, and leaders many of them learned by doing. By making mistakes, learning, and moving forward. And yes, many degree holders still feel lost, even after years of formal education. That’s when it becomes clear: what you’ve learned matters more than what you’ve studied.

We live in a world where degrees are given more value than real talent. Where people are judged by paper instead of ability. Where AI decides if you’re good enough without knowing your story. That’s not smart. That’s wrong.

Here’s what I believe: AI becomes a curse when it replaces human thinking. When a machine rejects you without understanding your journey or your skills, that’s not progress.

Speaking from my own journey, I studied Zoology, but today I'm running a digital-first company, working in fields like marketing, branding, and tech. I’ve always believed in keeping a white belt mentality—always ready to learn, improve, and explore new things. I might even pursue more degrees in the future, not for validation, but to expand my knowledge. Growth never ends, and neither should learning. At RMX, we don’t look for fancy degrees. We look for skills, passion, and the drive to build something meaningful.

At RMX, we believe talent is more important than a title. Some of the best people on our team didn’t come from big colleges. They came with passion, creativity, the hunger to grow, and the will to prove themselves. That’s what we value. It doesn’t matter if your degree is in Zoology, Arts, or if you don’t have one. What matters is: Can you learn? Can you grow? Can you do the work?

But here’s the twist while we try to create a place where talent shines, many people still hesitate to join startups. They want big brand names, cool offices, and fixed salaries. They think startups are risky or not serious enough. Maybe they’re right for now. But just think what if the early employees at Tata thought the same? “This company is too small, it’ll never grow.”

If they thought like that, Tata might not be what it is today.

Real growth never comes from comfort. It comes from those who believe in something before the rest of the world does. Startups may seem small now but they are the future.

So if you’re someone who feels left out, not seen, or not qualified, remember this: You are more than your resume. More than your degree. You are your experience. Your will to learn. Your strength to keep going.

And if you’re avoiding startups just because they aren’t big yet maybe the opportunity you need is hiding right there.

Because in the end, success doesn’t care about degrees. It looks for courage.

Many well known leaders and creators proved this through their journeys.

Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard and started Microsoft. Steve Jobs left college and changed the world with Apple. Mark Zuckerberg quit Harvard to build Facebook. Richard Branson left school at 16 and created the Virgin Group. David Karp never finished high school but built Tumblr. Matt Mullenweg dropped out and created WordPress.

These examples show that learning by doing and having the right mindset can take you farther than a degree.

If you want to go deeper, here are some books that can help you think in new ways, build confidence, and focus on growth:

Experience Over Degrees by Rishav Khanal and Alex Strathdee The End of Average by Todd Rose Mindset by Carol S. Dweck Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman A Champion's Guide to Growth Mindset by Wayne Marshall The Lean Startup by Eric Ries Zero to One by Peter Thiel Start with Why by Simon Sinek Mindset to Startup by Hani W. Naguib The Mom Test by Rob Fitzpatrick How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

These books are not just for reading. They help you think differently, grow stronger, and move forward based on who you are not just what’s written on a certificate.

You don’t need permission to grow. You need a reason, belief in yourself, and the courage to begin even if nobody else understands.

Because many times, your experience is your real qualification.
